Pablo Vidal, a PhD student in the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) program, has been awarded an Honorable Mention in the TechConnect World 2025 Student Best Abstract Award Program. This recognition highlights his research on developing manufacturing techniques and materials for personalized electroencephalography (EEG) tattoos.
Pablo's abstract, titled “On-scalp Printing of Personalized Electroencephalography E-tattoos,” explores the fabrication of adhesive, hair-compatible e-tattoos directly on the scalp using a custom electrode layout produced with a five-axis robotic printer. This approach enhances brain monitoring by improving comfort, long-term stability, and ease of application compared to conventional electrodes, providing a less intrusive and more personalized method for measuring brain activity.
The TechConnect World 2025 Student Best Abstract Award Program received over 125 applicants from universities worldwide, making this accomplishment a significant achievement for Vidal and the university. Honorable Mention winners, including Vidal, will receive a 50% registration discount to attend the TechConnect World Innovation Conference, providing an exciting opportunity to connect with other industry leaders and researchers.
Congratulations to Pablo Vidal on his impressive achievement!
